The only bot i see on an irregular basis is Zauis.

what partay? i didn't get the invitation. *sob*

-note- i only go to parties with carebears or strawberry shortcake stationary.

anything less would question my manliness.

im looking up places in SF my friends and i could hang out & eat next sunday before the Faux Beauty Pageant(whooHoo!) ..
Do you guys recommend any restaurants/pubs/diners/blah blha ?
someplace interesting & entertaining .. i'm looking into Left At Albuquerque, The Slanted Door, Kan Zaman, and Butter, The Steps of Rome...
we could always go to japantown too..
party of 8 so not always the easiest for small, packed joints to accommodate

that depends...i could give you suggestions depending on the following: how much are you willing to spend per person? plus where and when your pageant is. parking, time to get there...etc..etc..

I reccommend going to http://www.zagat.com

good luck

Kenishiro 04-08-2002 09:49 AM

well, if we do something, please make it a weekend. I'm not really anywhere close to SF. and traffic from the South Bay to SF during the weekdays isn't too funny. Although I could catch a ride on the BART and read. hmmm...

Remy 04-08-2002 09:55 AM

i hear the slanted door serves over-priced, bastardized versions of vietnamese food. i wouldnt go there if yo want authentic stuff.

i've always like bucca di beppo. good atmosphere, good food, large portions.

angoraphobia 04-09-2002 09:51 AM

its weird....all last week we kind of had sf weather....and it made me miss sf a lot....i could almost hear the sea birds and the water rolling and lapping against the pier when i closed my eyes....oh yeah that and the sound of smart ass bums....

yeah.. i see oakland as like the "queens" of ny. but i heard it has a bad reputation. how is it overall? what areas should i look at and what areas should i avoid?

daly.. is that in hte main city? sf isnt cut into boroughs (or sections) like ny is it?

Empty Screams 04-09-2002 10:27 AM

for oakland, it all depends on where you're at. in some areas, the change from an ok neighborhood to the "ghetto" can be as drastic as a one block difference.

i live by the lake. the neighborhood's pretty nice. locals are all nice. we get a small farmers market on saturdays (hooray for donnas vegetarian tamales!) good local eats....everything's basically in walking distance...rent's not bad...

questlove 04-09-2002 12:21 PM

nervous? but why?

lake meritt is nice.
i live in the bad part of oakland.
but it's cheap and i'm lulled to sleep every night by the soothing sounds of gunshots and ghetto birds.

just meeting new people

true. it's always a little daunting meeting new people-- especially when considering the circumstances. just take a paxil and i'm sure it'll be alright.

questlove 04-09-2002 12:49 PM

no, i wasn't implying that you're crying and isht

Uhh...Thanks.
I don't do paxil. I'm not crying and isht if that's what you're implying...

relax, champ, the paxil reference was in jest. the circumstances i speak of is in reference to the fact that it might be a little nerve-wracking meeting new people in which the only previous contact with those people are through a message board, over the internet.

nothin else...
