Seasonal Changes

Mar 16 – Apr 3, 2013

Four Person Group Exhibition featuring Hellen Jo, Jen Corace, Deth P. Sun, and Gosha Levochkin.

Hellen Jo works in animation in Los Angeles, and displays a style that’s partially influenced by manga, perhaps something like Taiyo Matsumoto. Jen Corace hails from Providence, RI and her works often capture emotion with a small town feel. Deth P. Sun is a Giant Robot friend who’s consistently shown at Giant Robot and many extending exhibitions. Gosha Levochkin is a Los Angeles artist who works mostly in watercolor and captures creatures in fantastical scenes.

For any other information on or about any of the artists or anything else contact Eric Nakamura at Giant Robot.

Three games, including an appearance by Spelunky creator Derek Yu . We’ll also have his figures!

The Games: Hotline Miami and Tuning both games created by Jonatan Cactus Soderstrom.

Hotline Miami – Hotline Miami is a retro style 2d top-down action shooter game developed by Dennation games. Its fast paced, has weapons of all varieties for you to use, a lucid trippy art style, and an amazing original soundtrack.

Tuning – Tuning is a platformer in which the levels are gradually presented weirder and weirder, creating visual puzzles where the player has to figure out how what he sees relates to his own actions in the game.

Special Events:

Cosplay in a Hotline Miami outfit and you’ll get a free download code for Hotline Miami (limited)

The Game Night Raffle – always a hit

GR2 – Feb 23 – March 13 Luke Rook is Grody to the Max

Luke Rook is Grody to the Max

Feb 23 – Mar 13th, 2013

Luke Rook is a toy maker who moved to Japan to pursue his dreams of being part of the toy world. He researched and soon hit the ground running. He soon gained international recognition for his Grody Shogun figures as well as his unrelenting approach to toy making. There’s none other like him. His humbleness in his work is almost unique and his creativity and ability to think of how toys can be created and put together are that of a fine artist. He won’t hesitate to use parts and pieces that are normally discarded to use. He’ll blend parts of one figure and put them on another to create an entirely different object.

We’re proud to bring his works to you in a gallery setting.

For any other information on or about Luke Rook or anything else contact Eric Nakamura at Giant Robot.
