Giant Robot Store and GR2 News

With the launch of the Nintendo 3DS this year, 2011 is the year of the gamer! In addition to the influx of many new games and new platforms, older titles like The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and the Street Fighter series are making a come back. Giant Robot pays homage to the gamer in all of this by hosting Game Night at GR2, where gamers and developers come together to play classic games as well as new releases. Our recent Game Night 5 featured the new titles Skullgirls by Reverge Labs and Skulls of the Shogun Haunted Temple Games for fans to enjoy, and our friends at Meat Bun provided gear for the night’s events. Meat Bun is the leading company in providing t-shirts for geeks and gamers. Their designs are bright, creative, amusing and nostalgic, bringing the appeal of video games to the masses and bringing back memories of Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start. Gamers and fans alike came out to GR2 and donned their signature apparel as Giant Robot offers 11 different designs for geeks, gamers, and everyone in-between. Three of our popular designs are featured here. In collaboration with Giant Robot, the Osu! T-shirt features the average intense gamer in the aftermath of a pixelated duel! The neon yellow Fight Night T-shirt advertises the upcoming showdown between Vega and Balrog at Block Head Pub! The three t-shirts below call out to the classic gamer who fought 8-bit vampires and eggplant wizards. Only the scar-battled gamer can recall the feeling of triumph and relief with the Beheaded T-shirt, featuring the ultimate fate of Count Dracula at the hands of Simon Belmont, and inevitably the anguish of a never-ending battle as the Lord of the Night always makes a return! The Secrets T-shirt quotes one of the most infamous words uttered by the ultimate undead: “What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets!” Gamers know that the battle against the Count is never-ending. Meat Bun also reminds us all about the devious power of the Eggplant Wizard, who has never looked more menacing before. He isn’t the bumbling goofball from your childhood Saturday morning cartoons. This wizard is deadly! Expect to see more of the vegetable overlord as Kid Icarus: Uprising will be released on the 3DS.
