Frank Turner at Amoeba

Caught the end of Frank Turner's in-store at Amoeba tonight. Many members of the press compare the ex-singer of Million Dead to Billy Bragg and call his music "folk punk," but I think his populist melodies are more refined, more like Ted Leo. But while Turner's music should please all fans of agit Anglophile pop, he is clearly inspired by American punk. Not only does he have a Black Flag bars tattoo, but he was wearing a shirt that said HR & Henry & Glenn & Ian (not sure about the last one). He must be stoked to be breaking in the U.S.
If you like his new video, above, check him out on tour now...

Ian makes sense. Glenn is the oddball name on the shirt. He is the only non-DC person on the shirt.
