Hug Live

Went to Philip Lumbang's self-produced Hug Life art show on Saturday night with my friends and GR contributors Jenny (right) and Ken (not left). It was in this loft area nearby the Park Plaza Hotel. Anyone remember the old Scream club by the MacArthur Park? It was right up the street there.


Even with a thumping DJ setup, it was hard to find the actual room of art since there were other bands and events going on in the complex. Eventually, we found it.

Not to be be shown up by his buddies, Phil (below, right) shaved, cleaned up, and put on a suit for the occasion. I saw a lot of smiles and red dots, so he must have been pretty happy.


I introduced myself to DJ Diabetic, who played records at the show, too, and he seemed like a cool guy. Although his working relationship with Phil has changed, I was glad to see there's no beef between them.
