Even more Biennale 2 pics

Okay, these aren't as star-studded as some of the other blogs you've read. But they're still full of people who are super important to GR--family, friends, contributors... Above, Eloise covets the Dehara-Horvath-LeMerde pieces, which go online on Monday!

After George Takei, Eric, and the artists had some serious portraits taken, they took a silly one. George led the way!

The Nakamura clan came out in force to support Eric on the big night.

Robert Ito contributed articles on Jaime Hernandez and Yukio Mishima way back when! His family.

Michelle Loc (center) when to Art Center with Wendy, and designed the Frido font that was featured in the mag for a stretch.

Thy (center) cuts my hair (when I get around to it)! Her sister (who shall remain nameless to reduce the chance of stalkers) is volunteering at the Asian Film Fest in Austin right now. Thy's cool husband Tadashi is a rad skater for life.

GR lawyer Mitch is one of the only happy people in a legal profession that I've ever met. His gf is Eriko!

Best intern ever? A hot debate, but Janet (left) is in the conversation.

Yes, Eloise and her cousins Lucia and Saoirse dressed in similar outfits on purpose.

Three was Wendy's only co-worker (from her day job) that showed up. Afterward, he went to the Bunnymen concert at Nokia.

My brother Greg went to that concert as well, along with my sister and brother-in-law who went in place of Wendy and me after the Biennale was scheduled on the same night. At least it was close!

Copy editor and GR Surf Team Board Member Scott had some special shirts made up and gave them to Greg and me!

Blurry photo, sharp dresser. GR contributor and softball team member Brian with GR familia Luis.

Blasts from the past: Craig made the zine Fear of Grownups that both Eric and I contributed to before GR. His wife (and babies-mama) Lynn contributed articles for the first few issues!

Blast from today: GR copy chief Hane with her dude Nathan!

This is where portraiture by Ben Clark were on display with some short blurbs that I wrote. By now, there are mags hanging by each photo so you can read the articles that went with them. Above, you can see filmmaker Takashi Miike, the band Boris, and living legend George Takei.

Longtime friend, supporter, and helper Didi (right) with her crew!

Don't fear Dehara!

2. Happy Birthday to you and Greg and many mooooooore.

3. You were a Jungle Cruise guy? You continue to display hidden talents. And yes, you will have to give some of the speil next time I see you. Hey, I can't just let that go, that's one of the classic jobs in life. What kid doesn't look up to the Jungle Cruise guides and wish they could do that job some day complete with bullwhip and gun.
