Got a surprise visit from photographer Ben Clark today. He dropped off some prints to get framed for the Biennale show and wondered if I was hungry. I couldn't say no to an excuse to visit gr/eats and talk to him about his photography. He's contributing a survey of shots he's taken for the mag...

The oldest one is a portrait of Takashi Miike, who I interviewed at the Avalon hotel when he was doing press for Gozu. He recalled that after shooting indoor portraits on the Hasselbald that he shot some on his Mamiya 7 on a whim to use the last roll of film. Turns out the latter is what what we used... So many stories and memories in his pics--it was hard to narrow down the band shots--and his installation is going to be one of my favorite parts of the show.
