New at Waiola, new to Waiola

This afternoon, I made my pilgrimage to Waiola for shave ice. After ordering my mocha bowl (with a jar of Starbucks ice coffee poured over the frozen dessert), I asked if Jerry was around, and he was! I introduced myself to him, saying that I wrote an article about him and his shop and he totally remembered me, my last name, and everything. So awesome. (Jeff, who shot the article, and his wife Tracy say he always remembers them, too.)


I asked him what was new, and he told me. First, there's a new T-shirt on the wall that looks like a pirate map.


And then there's a new syrup made with Monster energy drink! The kids are going to go crazy over that one--literally.


Finally, a saimin bowl-sized serving that's four times the size of a large. It only costs four bucks!


It was too much for me after finishing a bowl on my own, so I did the right thing and took it back to the hotel for Wendy and Eloise.
