Say Bye to Flappy Bird, it’s Gone Forever

Creator Dong Nguyen took Flappy Bird back. “I can call ‘Flappy Bird’ is a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it.” It went down today. Soon. If you want it, it’s time is gone. The tough game that pissed tons of people off, offended even it’s founder. Nguyen said he won’t sell it again. We’ll see if he trolls us all and makes his next game so easy, that it’ll piss us off in the opposite direction.

We’ll be a featuring a few games by The Behemoth at Giant Robot 2. We’ll have The Behemoth merch for sale and a special event: BattleBlock Theater tournament. All of the stations will be open to the public so you can play Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theater on their Xbox systems.

Here’s a rundown on the games:

Alien Hominid is best described as an homage to the old side scrolling shoot ‘em up games we grew up to love and hate always bringing us back for more.

Castle Crashers-  is a side-scrolling beat-em-up that incorporates a small number of role-playing video game elements.

BattleBlock Theater- players control a prisoner as they are forced to play through games devised by Hatty Hattington. Controls are simple, with the game largely consisting of running, jumping and punching. Levels are made up of various types of blocks, such as collapsing blocks, sticky walls, bouncy volcanic rocks and deadly spikes, and also feature hazards such as water and deadly creatures.

Mechanized Robot Kuratas

It’s a game, no it’s a robot! It’s only 1.35 million dollars. It’s Kuratas by Suidobashi Heavy Industry. The weapons are all in fun, except the gun does contain BBs. The aim has facial recognition, so it tracks humans. If you (the shooter) smiles, the gun starts firing! Want?!

Just added to Game Night 11. GR2 Saturday October 20th 7-10pm

iPad games: Astro Duel, Bloop and a viewing of One Million Hit Points.

We’ll also be premiering the latest episode of One Million Hit Points, a new webshow dedicated to video game culture in California.

Astro Duel
Astro Duel is a competitive astroid-style four player space arena for iPad. Inspired from endless nights of Super Bomberman, rounds are quick and death is sudden. Each player’s ship is controlled wirelessly with an iPhone or iPod touch. Arm your ship with 7 different power ups including missiles, lasers and auto-turrets. Varied arena bring a host of hiding places and hazards like death beams and black holes. Blow up your friends, rinse, repeat.

Bloop
Bloop is a fast, frantic touch game for iPad designed by Rusty Moyher. Two, three, or four players compete to tap the most tiles…at the same time! Easy at first, but soon the tiles shrink and hands collide. Each color plays a unique BLOOP sound, showing your symphonic success or dissonant disaster. As players push their way to victory, this onomatopoeic adventure becomes a hilarious party game.

I Wanna Be The Guy Gaiden by Michael “Kayin” O’Reilly

I Wanna Be The Guy: Gaiden is the sequel to most difficult game sensation I Wanna Be The Guy. A platformer that takes sprites from games of your childhood memories – and you may not have seen this one coming – kills you with them.

And Walker By Blake Fix

An impressively large platformer with beautiful sprite art, a whimsical sense of humour and a single-button control system. Playing as the titular Walker, you embark on a grand quest to… walk somewhere, in a mostly forwards/rightwards direction! And jump on stuff!
