seeing the inspector gadget thread got me to thinking about my favorite cartoons as a kid, danger mouse was so one of them. in fact i think i even collected some paraphernalia though where that all is now i have no idea...

danger mouse was cool and his sidekick the hamster or mole or something was cool too.

i also watched count duckula or something after danger mouse on nickelodeon. this was before my mom yanked the cable box straight out of the wall since we were watching too much tv. :p

danger mouse ruled! . i was very young when i saw them, but werent the plots always very surreal?... i think his enemy was a talking frog, and he had an assistant named penfold that was a hamster. And danger mouse himself had a eyepatch and a flying car that launched out of a mail chute. was one of those BBC shows.
Id like to see that cartoon again...I seem to remember him having a swingin 70's spy hangout or something...

Yeah he was like a cross between Bond and Austin Powers. I remember some of the weirdest shit from that cartoon. One episode they were in space and got stopped at some kind of tollgate. The toll was 130 bicycle clips. I remember Penfold's whiny voice (which suspiciously sounds similar to Pinky on Pinky and the Brain) saying, "But i haven't got any bicycle clips." I laughed my ass off. Don't ask me what a bicycle clip is.

Count Duckula was cool.

Remember old skool Nickelodean, before it went 24 hours? They had this British Sci-Fi show i watched like mad about a bunch of teens with powers. It was called the Tommorow People. The leader was this living computer brain thing called Michael. And everyone had teleport belts - which was fucking cool. I remember one episode called the blue and the green where this bad kid passed out badges in blue and green and then when he turned on some sort of generator - all the blues started fighting the greens. It was kickass. God - my fondest childhood memory is guys with teleport belts and funny accents. Woo.

Danger Mouse was cool, but does anyone remember those really, really cool shows on Nick. I mean shows like Mysterious Cities of Gold, Double Dare, You Can't do that on Television, and The Adv. of Pete&Pete. I swear when I was a kid, I wanted that Green Slime Shampoo! -Iggy

I don't know. ~gets a bucket of green slime dumped on his head~

That burger joint on You Can't Do That on Television was hilarious. Nasty, but funny as hell.

Oh - as far as the Tommorow People, i think they were fighting against some bad group that wanted to use them for some nefarious purposes or another. I do vaugely remember some sort of showdown. A lot of the episodes that stick out are the ones where they discover more kids with the power. I remember the variation in seasons because in one season, Michael was a bunch of bubbles and glowing wires on the ceiling - then he got put onto this table thing on the floor that could move around. Hm..

My favorite Nick show of all time is Clarissa Explains It All. I had such a crush on Melissa Joan Hart (still do), but at the time, she was like 14, and I was in my 20's, so I felt like a total perv for watching her. Now she's 25, so I don't feel like a perv anymore.

Remember Mr. Wizard? That science show with all those smart kids. I used to ask,"Geez, they understand all that he's saying?"

The frog was called Baron Greenback, the crow was called Stiletto (and his catchphrase was 'Si, baroni') and Dangermouse's boss was some walrus-type geezer called Colonel K.

Damn straight, get back to yesterday. Big props to Thames Television. Cartoon Network should start showing shows like DM and Count Duckula to remind us of our childhood. I got so much shit running through my head that I can hardly remember good stuff like that.

jesus christ, danger mouse and penfold. i always used to think that penfold was just a ripoff of simon from the chipmunks.
