i used to watch wolfgang when they were just starting out. i was in 9th grade. don't really dig them - i liked advent call a lot better but unfortunately they broke up and the singer carl roy formed another band called p.o.t. which is more funk, like the red hot chili peppers. didn't really listen to a lot of pinay bands but i did like parokya ni edgar and the eraserheads a lot.

I saw death angel when they were first around, and I saw them again about two years ago at some multi-band bill. Great band.
I saw the swarm open for Jerry Cantrell, and they were terrible.

hasn't anyone listened to any recent pinay rock bands??? I mean, from the 98-2003... seems as though most people only know old groups..

i've heard cherry bomb but i doubt they've got any recordings. 15-yr old drummer, girl bassist and girl singer and a guy guitarist. they're hardcore. the drummer's really good tho.

hehe i'm kinda old fashioned when it comes to pinoy music - i could never really get into the new rock bands. anyone heard of Apo Hiking Society? they're so old!
don't get me wrong though Eraserheads are one of my favs. the whole Manila scene isn't going down with me though.

If you want to purchase music from Pinoy bands, there's a shitload of them on this site (http://www.indiecultureonline.com). You'll especially want to check out Radioactive Sago Project, Sheila And The Insects, <S>andwich, Cambio, and Twisted Halo.
If you do a Youtube search for these bands, you'll get to see a video or two there as well.

POT just rereleased their only album. I guess they remastered it or something. I'm not really sure what they did. They added a couple of tracks on the rerelease though.
Y'all might also want to pick up Filipino (http://www.divisoria.net/flbdoabbmucd.html) by Dong Abay, who used to front Yano (http://divisoria.stores.yahoo.net/2in1sebyabmu.html), a cross between The Clash and The Violent Femmes. Lots of socio-political overtones in his music.
If dreampop's your thing, there's a rerelease of Sugar Hiccup's (http://divisoria.stores.yahoo.net/2in1sebsuhib.html) first two albums for the price of one CD! This comes highly recommended. Too bad BMG didn't decide to include the original liner notes.
Then there's also Color It Red (http://divisoria.stores.yahoo.net/coitredb2in1.html). Their vocalist has the same uncanny tone of Margo Timmons. In fact, they sound like a more upbeat Cowboy Junkies.
