i'm obsessed with the state. one of my favorite skits was when they were pretending they were former russian cosmonauts!?! they were wearing adidums ("more stripe for less money") and sold magic mice. the free trade agreement was working for them so well that they could now eat "three potato" or something like that. heehee i get all giddy thinking about them.

the episode where they hunt muppets and kill them by breaking their necks...
show me far!
show me near!
and the mailman who put tacos instead of the bills in the mailbox..heaheha

does anyone have the skits and stickers video? i have it, but i was kind of disappointed because it didn't have the best skits in it (nor did it come with stickers, boo!) but still... it's better than nothing.
it was so weird seeing ken marino and michael ian black in NBC shows. at least they're making money somehow.
thomas lennon was in an episode of friends... anyone catch that?
michael patrick jann is supposedly directing a movie with janeane garofalo in it. anybody know more about this?
Call me old fashioned but I believe in one true God. He lives behind me in this lake. And his name is Mongo.

Hell yeah the State was funny, who can forget the Italian family that invited "da Pope-ah" for dinner and argued that Penguins "ain't natural, they wuz man made". Oh and the Jew, the Italian and the Red Head Gay, gotta love stereotypes.

"Monkeys, they don't do it! ... They make amore!"
It's all about the porcupince racetrack musical.
"I know that I’m a sinner, but I really need a winner,
or the orphanage will close.
So God if your above, and it's orphans that you love,
then make my porcupine go"
or something like that. High class entertainment if you ask me.

One of my favorites was the one where the guy named Blueberry was screaming "I love it, I love it, I love it." That stuck in my head for weeks on end. I also really dug the sketch where this guy was having his friend housesit and he had to take care of the gigantic sea monkeys the dude had.

Wet Hot American Summer is the best movie ever! It's the sickest humor that defines me exactly. If you get the DVD there is around 5 hours of extras, and you can see all the stuff they've been in, in their bios, which is a shitload of wierd stuff, like NYPD. Michael Showalter, I thinks thats how you spell it, will be in that new movie Signs coming out, by the guy who did 6th Sense and Unbreakable. You can find a ton of their episodes along with Upright Citizens Brigade and Tenacious D at http://www.statemedia.net i think. Statemedia something, use a search engine. But, even better, you can find their Stella skits there. A side project by the guys who did the state. They are incredible sick since they aren't censored. They do these skits live in New York and have been for a long time. Finally, an advantage to live on the East Coast!

wow! thanks kennedy! i'll definitely search it tomorrow at work!
and wet hot american summer definitely kicked my ass. it was like an extra long episode of the state, wasnt it?

After ten years of popular demand, The State is available again! The first season of the 1993-95 MTV Series is NOW AVAILABLE on iTunes Music Store. Depending on how many people download, MTV will release subsequent seasons, and then eventually, hopefully, a DVD.
The first season includes introductions of favorite State characters Doug, Louie, Barry & Levon. Featuring Kevin Allison, Michael Ian Black, Ben Garant, Todd Holoubek, Michael Patrick Jann, Kerri Kenney, Thomas Lennon, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Michael Showalter and David Wain. Just go to the "TV Shows" section of the iTunes Store and choose "MTV"

I don't know, maybe I was too stupid to fully appreciate them. That's cute that a 9 yo would like it. I remember my brother liking some truly crap songs when he was a little kid. It's cute now. I wish I was a better brother to him. But I digress...
