has anyone heard of this comic? the story is surprisingly original, and the artwork is so refreshing. jushuah middleton is the artist I believe.

it's joe quesada's idea and he gave it to brian wood and david choe to work on it but marvel canceled it after they did all the work. dave has some sketches in bruised fruits. this happened awhile ago.

anyway, i read it. it was ok but whats with the panty shots?

His "Merdian" book is like MIYAZAKI's Laputa: The Castle in the Sky, only on steroids. Too many similar visual references. The boy love interest even has goggles like Pazu in Laputa. Whatever.

I see now, what is David Choe's "comic" art style like? I mean, I really like this middleton's guys style. and you say Choe's "X-treatment" was alot better? but wasn't his book dropped? how did you see / read the book me made then? are did you just assume it would be better?

I'm sorry. I totally misunderstood what was going on and I was making some assumptions because I misread peko-chan's post. I don't know Choe's comic style since it doesn't exist. You are correct.

Middleton's stuff looks great. I'll check it out.

finally got to pick this up. Book is hot as hell, sold out first few days. I like the stories, and the fucking art is great. A bit refreshing from the norm. I was getting a bit tired of Humberto Ramos atyle art for awhile. Not to say what's out there isn't great, but lately the readings have been what the comic's been abou than the art. There's always an inbalnce in terms of art to writing, except of course for the recent Jim Lee/Jeph Loeb Batman collab.

The story's cool in NYX, i just hope it doesn't become stagnant and cop out to the typical hero shit.

Anyways, I post on an artboard that Middleton posts on once in a while, and his stuff is fucking incredible. CLEAN. I also met him at Comic Con really briefly and he seemed to be a really cool, normal dude. He was funny, him and another guy were making fun of Quesada for something.

NYX 3 is out, picked it up today. the plot is getting more interesting. this comic is great. I'm thinking of scanning some pannels and posting them here....... er.. bad Idea right?

Wizard reports that it might end with issue 5/6. Joe Quesada (Marvel EIC) says depending on the numbers and fan suport, he's not sure about making it an ongoing.

Middleton is the same guy that was doing the New Mutants covers. I'm pretty sure he "inks" himself and does a lot of his own coloring too, all digital. He posts infrequently on an art board I post on sometimes and he was saying that he's obsessive about line quality. I think his style is pretty amazing.

I'd like to see a Dave Choe X-book too though, don't get me wrong.

edit: I already said half of this in a previous post that I'd forgotten about.

The book sells out in like three days everywhere, I don't know why Quesada would cancel it.

boy is this comic sucking right now. not only are they slow to release it (waited almost a year for the 5th issue I think). but middleton didn't even do the art for the lastest issue. its just some guy who tries to draw like him. the coolness has gone down a few notches... story is still there though.. somewhat..

For all of us who picked this up from the beginning, issue #3's going for like up to 60 smacks since it introduces X-23 who's Wolverine's clone. I only got to issue 3, I still need 4-7.
