i've been following the entire new x men series and i can honestly say that it has beaten me within an inch of my life. who else is feeling this book? i saw it a couple of times on the top 10 thread and i totally agreed. it's been killin' me from the start, but this latest issue made it official. aside from the current jim lee run on Batman, i'd say that new x men is definitely tops in the mainstream comic book biz.

new x men jacknife power bombed me through a fiery table of doom, and there wasn't a damn thing i could do about it.

i'm still in shock Grant Morrison actually worked on a title with X-Men in it's name.

i started reading it, and i thought it was fresh. i was going to subscribe, but i fell off, as usual.

that xtreme x-men shit was horrible.

i haven't been able to get back into comics since i was little. oh well, i guess i could use a little less dorkiness anyway.

WHAT?!

d'oh. well he's put down the groundwork for a hot title and we can only hope they don't fuck it up.

but yeah, the ending to the last issue was unsane.

grant morrison's got one more arc after planet x with art by one of the original image guys, marc silvestri. after that, he's going to DC and chuck austen might be doing a fill in.

the new one was pretty good.

The part that was really lame, though, was when Wolverine was talking about how he just easily killed Weapon 15, who was supposed to be some Magneto-caliber badass.

"I followed him here and then I stabbed him" or something, when the guy had been god-like in previous issues. pretty lame.

I never even picked this up. I was pissed that Morrison worked up a great head of steam on Marvel Boy (with great art by JG Jones) and then he ditched that series to work on X-Men.

haha

I think the storyline is pretty interesting overall, but the execution of the plot leaves some things to be desired. That's all.

I just finished the last of Morrison's story arc, and my brain was on the verge of explosions.

Ow... it hurts... it hurts so good.

The new x-men is now about a bunch of kids? Maybe the title is more appropriate but the astonishing x-men (with the same morrison cast) written by Joss Whedon is pretty sweet. Check that one out although I think they're about to conclude the current arc with the next issue.

No, see, you're confused.
Uncanny X-Men>>>Wolverine>>>X-Men>>>Other Comics>>>New X-Men>>>Astonishing X-Men.

I'm so freaking insanely happy that Morrison is off of X-Men. He just shook the foundation of it too much. There was no need for "Cerebra" at all, but I did enjoy the Scott-Emma-Jean affair for a while before the plot-holes started to become too evident.

Oh, and it's Joss Whedon.

Thanks for the correction (joss whedon).

But no, I'm not confused.

Although claremont (uncanny) did great work back in the day, his plots are rather played out and rehashed now....softball game, check. resummarize the entire story in a single panel by a character, check. intro new character who will end up being a trivial answer, check. Meanwhile, Whedon's been continuing the strong character driven plots with intruiging twists ie: hank mccoy's contemplating normal homo sapienship, although I'm not completely convinced about the ressurection of colossus).

But yea, morrison started off like hellblazers and ended up like soggy cereal.
