ppl used to tell me that chewing ice is a sign of sexual frustration. in my case it could be true, haha, but i chew ice and chew hard candy. i just can't have anything in my mouth small enough to choke on for very long, because i almost choked to death on a piece of hard candy when i was 3.

If I'm paying $7+ for a drink, I eat the ice on principle. I paid for that ice!

If I'm at a restauant I try to stop myself, but it's something I do automatically. I find they bring you another drink real quick if you start doing it.

If I'm in a movie theater I try to do it slowly...and...quietly.

Not causes, is a symptom of. I don't have anemia (I get a blood test every 6 mo's for my pills) it's just an OCD thing.

ok....lets discuss favorite types of ice to chew...one of my personal faves is the kind thats airy....not too dense.....mostly the cylindrical type with the hole in the center....pellets are good too....mmmm...oh and chips too.....

ive been chomping on ice since i was a youngun....i think i am kind of anemic.....but i think its mostly a nervous habit....

i think it is an urban legend too.

i think that women going into labor only get to eat ice chips because they can't drink large quantities of water. i think that it would make sense for the following reasons:

-- the bladder doesn't burst from all of the pushing
-- the doctor doesn't get peed on, or the baby doesn't get peed on
-- in case the woman pukes during labor-- if the pushing causes reflux she could choke.
-- in case of need for cesarean section.

it gives them a chance to be more comfortable-- dry mouth sucks, and it may help with tension to concentrate on the ice.

i don't know much though.

hmm... pissing on baby or doctor would suck - though i've heard shitting is pretty common :eek: though that wouldn't be on the baby... it's still gross.
favorite ice - small, clear cubes w/ circle in middle... none of that slushy ice shit!
does anyone know how to get completely clear cubes? when i make ice in trays it's always cloudy...
