fixin leather

i have two sweet leather chairs that are pretty much shredded. i bought a 2nd hand trenchcoat whose colour match is uncanny.
Besides tearing the whole thing apart and restitching the new leather in, i was hoping to simply glue it on overtop.
Any ideas, suggestions, products or words of wisdom would be a great boost to my confidence before i begin this daunting task.

the glue would probably not last long. stitching is your best bet but that's going to be tough too.

cut out the lose bits and place a big throw blanket over it. That's how we roll in the T-park.
