I don't know about any ancient Chinese secrets or anyone from Manchuria. But Confucius said, "Man with dick in peanut butter is fucking nuts."

*ancient chinese secret*

there was a commercial back in the late '70s for clorox or something, set in a dry cleaners. person walks in and drops off clothes and when said person picks up they're super amazed as to how clean and shit they're clothes are and asks how?

laundry person slyly says "oh, ancient chinese secret...ha..." and laughter abounds.

goofiness. but there you have it, ancient chinese secret.

Manchurian Candidate - comes from this really excellent film adaptation of Richard Condon's novel:

The term is also now used to describe any brainwashed assassin...think of a hyp-motized Reggie Jackson out to kill the Queen and you'll get the idea.

The commercial was for Wisk, I think. "Wisk around the collar beats ring around the collar" was the slogan. It was like spray and wash. In the ad, the customer asks how the laundry gets does such a great job getting out ring around the collar. The Asian man behind the counter says "Ancient Chinese secret." Then an asian woman from the back says "We need more Wisk." And the customer grins and says, "Ancient Chinese secret, huh?"

It's a great film and fetures Angela Lansbury as a bad lady, in stark contrast to the kinds of roles she plays on TV these days. Well worth watching if a bit dated (ocld war stuff).
