in my opinion, the only tv shows worth watching for me are:
5.the daily show(and now, your moment of zen)
4.iron chef(fuqui san!)
3.letterman(ad libbing at its finest)
2.politically incorrect(i think bill mahr is one of the smartest guys around)
1.conan(triump the insult comic dog is the funniest thing on tv)
i also like the simpsons, but it hasnt been the same since matt groening doesnt write the episodes anymore. he writes futurama now, thats why its so much funnier than the simpsons.

besides those shows, in the sitcom realm, i really dont watch too many other than Two Guys and a Girl (formerly Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place). Pretty witty, i think. And, uh... i used to watch Spin City when i was totally diggin Jennifer Esposito..

conan is awesome--every time i go to new york i go see his show!!! he actually sang to me one time and i got to dance with him (audience warm up) . if you like triumph the insult dog, watch T.V. Funhouse on Comedy Central after South Park on Weds. Robert Smigel does the voice for Triumph...
Iron Chef rocks!!!
some of my all-time favorites-- CHiPs, Star Trek (all of them), and Kids in the Hall.
lol, conan is my fav show! thats real cool he sang to you, how many times have you seen his show? yeah i really like tv funhouse, but i dont always catch it. smigel is such a dope comedy writer.
i never really got into kids in the hall, i always thought it was a ghetto snl. but ive seen a few and they are pretty funny.
Here's what I watch on:
1. The WB
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Angel
Roswell
2. SCIFI
Farscape
The Secret Adventures of Julies Verne
3. NBC
Late Night with Conan O'Brian
4.FOX
Beast Machines (Transformers)
5.Bravo
Cold Feet
The Actors Studio w/James Lipton
....and M2 of course

i don't watch tv so much anymore, but last year when i did i watched roswell (religiously), that 70s show, titus, young americans, pinky and the brain. right now i watch temptation island. the horror, the horror! i like the sci fi channel a lot too - quantum leap and sliders. and once, i saw fatal fury on it - haha! and i also watch comedy central and the discovery channel. iron chef is cool - i'd watch it all the time if i knew when it was on.

Well, I'm glad there are more people than I who know what I'm talking about when I mention Bravo. I Also like watching Bravo profiles when I can, I loved the one they did on Bjork. As for The West Wing, I haven't ever seen an episode, mainly cause I don't think Martin Sheen can act. (trust me I watched Spawn)

I agree with Conan O'Brien. I watched his very first show and knew immediately he had boffo material!
But if you like comedy, you can't beat Comedy Central. They cancel funnier shows than you'd ever see on the networks.
Best Cancelled shows:
1. Strangers with Candy
2. Upright Citizens Brigade
Best Current shows.
1. TV Funhouse -from the makers of SNL's Ambiguously gay duo
2. Battlebots
3. Daily Show
4. South Park - new episodes funnier
A note on PI. That show is great, but there are waaay too many commercials. The show lasts about 10 mins (after bill's stupid monologue) and just when they get started on a topic, it's time for commercial or the end!

I think my two favorite shows on right now are Survivor 2(and Survivor) and Jackass. I almost cry every time Jackass comes on. I can wait for the new episodes!

seriously, politically incorrect needs to go back to cable, AND be an hour long.
bill's monologue is wacker than leno's, and leno is baaaad.

What's up with good actors in crappy movies (ie Martin Sheen in Spawn)? A lot of actors I love are in stuff that is just painful to watch. Stuff that makes me scratch my head and think, "Hmm, I used to think he was good." Here are some examples:
Ben Kingsley won an oscar for <i>Ghandi</i>, then did <i>Species</i>.
After his oscar-winning performance in <i>An Officer and a Gentleman</i>, Louis Gosset Jr. went on to make 3 or 4 <i>Iron Eagle</i> movies.
Michael Caine has been in great stuff, including <i>Cider House Rules</i>, but he has also been in some of the worst movies I've ever seen (<i>Blame it on Rio</i>! WTF?!)
Wesley Snipes was great in <i>Jungle Fever</i> and <i>White Men Can't Jump</i>, but <i>Passenger 57</i> and <i>The Art of War</i> were unwatchable.
Michael Madsen is so cool in <i>Resivoir Dogs</i> and <i>Donnie Brasco</i>, but he was also in <i>Species</i> and both <i>Free Willy</i> movies.
What's up? Sometimes it's just a paycheck? Or are the good performances the flukes?
third rock from the sun
family guy
o'reily factor (this guy is.....something, i'm not sure if he's up to the level of mclaughlin group or not)
law and order
simpsons (it just doesn't get old for me)
oh yeah and that 70s show

Used to be on after Strangers with Candy. Both cancelled. Now replaced with hours of god-awful "Who's line is it, anyway?"

Do you guys know that UCB is an improv. group here in NYC? Very cool.
I wish they hadn't cancelled that program. I've had workshops with the UCB's here in chicago. I'm an improvisor at Improv Olympic (where UCB began) and all over... they got lazy and thought they could pull out one more season of "half-assed" sketches... didn't work though. Oh well, they have a theater in NY and It's going really well, from what I hear.
also - on the topic of Conan, did you guys see the "guy who says his home town in a creepy way" ...character?
that's Kevin Dorff and he is one of the funniest men in the world. He used to be on the chicago Second City mainstage, He's taught a lot of classes here... he's brilliant.

"don tell noooobody!"
(with funny hand gesture/facial expression)
oh man
on that subject i would also have to say that "in living color" was like the funniest sketch show on regular tv. plus they had the fly girls, what more could you want?
they show reruns on fx i think, and i was watching them dance and the clothes they were wearing and all i could think was "ahhh the eighties"

From what I hear, it can be for various reasons. Sometimes you just need to be on a union job to keep your union membership. Some projects are done as a favor for someone or to return a favor. Or maybe they don't have any good scripts and that crappy movie is going to pay off their new yacht that was about to get repossessed.
It would be sad to think that a great actor just chose to be in a crappy movie because they lacked good judgement.
For cartoon shows I like Dexter's Laboratory. It rates higher than Powerpuff Girls in my book.
I recently saw the first season of the Sopranos on DVD. After that I was a fan of the show. I'm watching the reruns of season two on HBO now. Season three starts in March. Sopranos is kind of like Goodfellas but in New Jersey. It covers a lot more topics because its a tv series.
Previously I liked Iron Chef but the English dubbing makes it less appealing. I now prefer a local cooking show called Island Chefs. Each week there is a guest chef from different restaurants in Hawaii. The host of the show is Kuualoha Taylor who is my favorite weather girl. She can eat crackers and Doritos in my bed any time.

No shit! I saw that Backdoor Boy's house- AJ I think. Frickin' nouveau riche no-taste having muthafucka! He had tacky-ass giant garden statues and big faux-Greek sculptures all over his wack-ass suburban hell development home. In his driveway- freakin' typical black Benz convertible. No style at all.
But the cool one was with Ozzy Ozborne and his proper British family. Here's this infamous anti-Christ, but he's just a family guy now, teasing his daughter about Brittney Spear's boobs. And it just sounds funnier with the accent.
HAhah I liked that episode! I was thinkin "what the F#$%# Ozzy Osbourne?!?! is that you?!?!"
my favorite lines were:
"Nsync GrRRrrrrrr"
and his references to his little dogs:
"WE'll Eat Joo LaaaTah!"
dewd cracked me up!
