Since Eric picked up a rod hockey set at a thrift shop recently, the GR house has been turned into an arena with regular pickup games every day. Eric has a brutal shove shot, Mike's got the Delaware defence going on, Catherine spins the players like they're propellers, and I've been working on the give-and-go with Angelyn. It's getting pretty intense.

i just recently started playing shadowrun with some friends.
on the weekends i drink with friends - that has been the extent of my debauchery :P was hoping to see richie hawtin in nyc this weekend though - that should be fun. otherwise, the usual stuff. playing the sims, watchin tv, reading a book. i lead a boring existence. the other day though, my friend gave me a mini bottle of bubbles. those are fun.

it's too cold to really do anything. built an igloo in the backyard last month and it's still standing. on a normal, nice day i'd be out photographing or in the city or something. anywhere but here.
there's a game we play sometimes, it's like hide and seek but more fun. you blindfold "it" and you all stay in one room and it has to find you and guess who you are. gets pretty rowdy at times, with all the pillows and stuff being thrown around. haha.

Last Friday I went to a semi-pro hockey game in Pensacola; Pensacola Ice Pilots against the Jacksonville Badgers.
Also, playing Power Stone 2 and paintball usually helps pass the time.

I bought a 10 inch b&w tv from the 70's and hooked up my atari to it. I put it next to my turntables so when I have house parties people can bust out while they wait to play records.

I've also made up a drinking game called 'Running through the forest.'
The name is from a technique in a kung fu movie I watched on kung fu theater on channel 9 after black belt theater on channel 11. (remember that shit?) Anyway you take a quart of orange juice and a pint of rum, take a drink of the oj and fill up the oj bottle with rum. In the beginning you try to keep the bottle filled but you run out of fluid obviously but the point is that with each drink the rum becomes less diluted until youre drinking shit straight up. The less amount of people involved the more punk you are. I'm sure you all have done something similar. I just came up with a name you can add to the list.

Another cool game me and my friend made up is 'squatty pong.' You need a nerf ping pong set and some tape for this shit to be fun. You basically find a hard surface inside your house,office,etc. and tape the perimeter of a ping pong table,(you can measure one but we just kind of eyeballed it in our heads) set up the plastic net and its on. the rule is that you have to remain on your feet and since the nerf ball doesnt bounce like a regular ball, your azz is squattin' hence squatty pong.

corridor cricket - u get a soft round ball, something as a stump (bin, cling wrap cardboard roll, etc)... and a cricket bat... or another roll.... sort of like playing indoor baseball, only more challenging since you can stump someone out....
It's particularly fun in the office (especially when there is no supervision), but works at home too. If you're by yourself you can keep bowling towards the stumps and try to knock it down.....

sometimes my brother and i will do the indoor basketball thing.....

last nite I was planning my set - i'm playing at someone's party on sat nite, and there will be some of sydney's best djs there.... i'm panicking already

I finally bought two big bookcases for all my records which were previously in 18 of those white lp boxes stacked on top of each other, so now _all_ my records are accessable, not just the ones in the top boxes, so I've been goin' nuts. Ian McCulloch, Ultra Vivid Scene, Rorschach, Kicking Giant, plus tons of other stuff I've been missing. That and playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, oh, and we just got digital cable so I've been watching movies like crazy...

If I'm straight up lazy I'll strum the guitar and play the same ass song over..and over...and over. Then come up with variations of that song..and play THAT over and over..until i get tired and go on the internet for tabs.

If I'm in a pissy mood...I'll grab the electric, grab the distortion peddle...into the home theater system it goes..and I'll share my feelings with the neighbors.

If I want to kill someone..I'll slap on the fatigues..assemble the paintball gun...call up the buddies...go to a nearby canyon...set the guns up to insane velocities...and have good o'l fashion "every man for himself" or "Capture the flag" Outlaw paintball is the shiet. We sometimes play at night using glowsticks to wave our asses out.

Then I have the real artsy fartsy moments where I try to grasp my childhood drawing skills. This is when I realize how wack i've gotten!! I would vent my frustrations by building models and toying with RC cars.

Skateboarding is fun too...but at this age..I'm too scared to break anything.

I just got laid off (the dot.com shakeout is actually a *good* thing for SF though) so I've plenty o' time to do fun things and be a no-good-layabout.

Crud I've been enjoying as a member of the gainfully unemployed set: watching History Channel and Independent Film Channel all day, shopping for records and books at Amoeba/Aquarius/Green Apple, blowing crap up at the rifle & pistol range, catching up with movies (hurray for the Roxie, Castro and Lumiere), and sleeping in late. Seeing more bands. Enjoyed the Winston Smith exhibit at a nearby gallery last weekend.

Going on a crab/rockfish/lingcod charter boat trip outside the Golden Gate this weekend. Mmmmmmmm...crab feed.

I spend most of my free time writing out lame stories that I think are funny. I'm also trying to build my own website, (www.homestead.com/hapiman/main.html) I don't know any html skills or nothing like that, so I'm stuck using homestead. I also have a short film in the works, it'll be quite funny, I'm only 30 seconds into it so far, but I post a link to it when I'm fin. Thats about it.

playing frogger and loderunner (does anyone remember lode runner?) on my handspring visor; taking random photographs with my polaroid cameras; organizing and reorganizing the bookshelves and CD towers (in my still-new apartment); starting my umpteenth web journal; and going for long walks around the block in search of pistachio ice cream for my roommate (four ice cream shops and you'd think we would have found it, but no).

Over the last 2 1/2 months, I've improved quite a bit and look forward to playing each time we go. I've always had this impression of pool halls and everything, but it's actually not as bad as I assumed.

i recently got into dying my hair.
i NEVER dyed my hair until recently when i got highlights.. then i dyed it reddish brown(i was aiming for reddish black).. now i have it dyed african violet(reddish plum).
