View Full Version : Collaborations of artist you would like to see make a album

Part II out of bordem at work i present my ideas of artist i wish would collaborate with each other.
Ween and DaftFunk : this destined combination would spawn funk driven lyrics n grooves rivaling earth wind n fire. bow chicka chicka bow wow...
Cut Chemist and MosDef : Obscure gritty ole beats and the acrobatics of defs rhymes
Kid rock, Tommy lee, and Fred durst: I wish all three of these ass monkeys would collaborate on a "raprock" album. Of course the album would be a instant sucess, having mallrat kids who wear big pants, smoke ciggarette butts and have chain wallets raving! They would soon go on a world tour spanning the globe in thier mission to disgrace America. During the world tour thier private airplane would crash into the pacific ocean directly above the marinarias trench in typhoon season.
Beth Orton and Paul Simon : heheh i dont know about this one but it couldnt be that bad right, as long as it just acoustic.
John Frusciante ( guitar ), Joshua Redman (sax) , Victor Wooten (bass), John Medeski (keys), and Tim Alexander (percussian)... da jammy jam

Old Dirty Bastard and Britney Spears - the ODB needs to marinate her in his craziness.
Old Dirty Bastard and Mariah Carey reunited - they're both
crazy so it works even better
the Backstreet Boys backed by AC/DC - forces the Buttstreeters to match volume with the live band, thus damaging their vocal cords forever.
New Bomb Turks + Rocket from the Crypt - i don't know what
would happen, but I think it'd be good.

The showmanship and vocals of David Lee Roth + The guitar of Prince + The Bass of Flea + The beats of Mixmaster Mike = The coolest re-emergence of Diamond Dave you could ever hope for.
The Monkees + Nirvana = Simian Bliss. A hardcore hippy band who flies the finger salute against corporate rock.

i'm starting a band and i want to do a bunch of weird covers, i.e. anarchy in the uk sung by a little girl, and just a friend by biz markie sung as lusty bisexual britpop.

Celine Dion is the right choice for that.

Someone I know was telling me a story about one of their friends was trying out for that MTV "who wants to be a VJ" thing and had made it through a couple rounds, then one of the questions they asked was "what is a collaboration you'd like to see?" and he was like "neil young with pearl jam would be tight!" and they were like, um that happened. oops. Wait, i didn't hear that story on the boards did i?
On a semi-related tip, my RA freshman year made it to like the final round of Real World tryouts, and the MTV dudes were all "we want you on the show, but we need you to be a homophobe." Fucken posers.

GZA & EL-P would fucking rule. (On a side note, GZA needs to come out with an actual album damn soon. I don't like the idea of his verbal skills going unused for years until the rest of the Clan has enough free time to do a Wu-Tang album.)
Richard Ashcroft & Bernard Butler
Mos Def & OutKast
Maynard James Keenan & Massive Attack or Tricky
Bjork & Jedi Mind Tricks
Canibus, Eminem, Pharoahe Monch & RZA
Britney Spears & The Pet Shop Boys
Under the "should have been" column, Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix. It pisses me off everytime I think of how close they were to recording an album.

Me and the Beatles. It would ultimately suck, but it'd be fun for me! And of course, that's all that matters in the end.
Ok seriously, Velvet Underground, pavement, sonic youth, the strokes, ME, eric clapton, tre cool, flea, bootsy collins, and Pavarotti for one demented jam session. Ultimate hookup baby!

Orestes out of Bitch Magnet on drums
Tony Iommi (sp?) on lead guitar
Bob Mould on rhythm (sp?) guitar (have to have Zen Arcade guitar sound)
Pete Searcey (of Squirrel Bait) on vocals
Kim Deal (sp?) on bass
Ok - I'm going to some rocktacular route here. But I'll do an artsy or souful thang later.

I would love to hear the results of a recording session with these two. It's hard enough trying to pick out what instrument the sound is coming from on recordings from either. The combination would be a pure sonic delight. Or a complete mess.
With brain on drums, of course.

AESOP ROCK and a dirty fucked up JUST BLAZE.. ace rizzle is coming with this gutter pimped out flow these days and could kill some blazeezzy production. bazooka tooth becomes really dope after the 3,235,456 listen.
JEAN GRAE and CAGE.. i'm loving jean's 9th wonder souled out shit, but at the same time i would like to see her get dirty as fuck like you know she can and do it with the best of dirty as fuck and see what happens. it would be an interesting LP.
thats all i can think of for now..

Wu-Tang to Collaborate With Indie Hip-Hop Elite
Rob Kleckner reports:
Babygrande Records has formed a joint venture with Dreddy Kruger's Think Differently Music Group. No one knows exactly what this means, what with that shadowy Wu-Tang Clan involved, but we do know that it means a whole bunch of Clan activity coming our way-- and that can't be bad news.
So far, three projects are lined up, the first of which will be Think Differently Music: Wu-Tang Meets the Indie Culture. Babygrande's official site describes this as "an unprecedented pairing of Wu-Tang artists, producers, and affiliates with some of independent hip-hop's East and West Coast elite. RZA, MF Doom, GZA, Rass Kass, Aesop Rock, Masta Killa, Del the Funky Homosapien, Sean Price, J Live, Tragedy Khadafi, C-Rayz Walz, RA the Rugged Man, Littles, Cannibal Ox, Sunz of Man, Royal Fam, and many more artists, producers, and even award winning filmmaker Jim Jarmusch have come together for what will be a historic moment in hip-hop."
This'll be in stores on October 18, and the first single, "Biochemical Equation" featuring the RZA and MF Doom, will make its premiere on iTunes in August. Further projects will include solo albums from Wu-Tang affiliates Bronze Nazazreth and La the Darkman/Embassy Entertainment.
Of these pairings Dreddy Kruger says, "I learned how to make albums...the whole process of putting a record together from the RZA and Schott Free. It feels good to finally have my own situation to bring my conceptual thinking to hip-hop and I look forward to working with Babygrande to make it happen."
