Radio 2 - what used to be the BBC's easy listening station - has caught up with me, and now plays all kind of stuff like Spiritualized and Blur along with harmless 80s pop. However I found myself singing along to Travis the other day. I felt like boiling myself in bleach. What bands do you want to hate but find yourself sucked into kind of liking?

I like a couple songs from System Of A Down, Alien Ant Farm, and Sugar Ray, and I can't seem to get that stupid "hot diggety" song from The Apex Theory out of my head for some reason.
aw man..i got tons..i don't feel guilty though...i feel guilty about not liking good bands eg. pavement...but yeah.. it gets pretty complicated like madonna to me isn't 'bad' music...but like umm...say...the first def leppard album..like that ain't even really good metal...so there you go...
i always said that there were "no guilty pleasures" in my music collection. my taste is pretty wide-spread and i'm proud of it. along with my love for indie rock and hip hop, i also fancy a bit of kenny rogers, neil diamond and madonna. i have no problem admitting that. but i also wouldn't admit that i liked the goo-goo dolls, even though i have two of their cd's. i recently outed myself a few months ago.
i like the goo-goo dolls and i'm proud of it.

Theere's nothing wrong with that, although I don't like the musical direction they've taken in the past few years. I'd recommend checking out their early releases, especially Jed (that's a great album).

Hmmm... I guess my guilty pleasure would be either Tori Amos or 2Live Crew. I still hope all of you die though.

Guilty pleasure- Barry White. You gotta admit he's damn sexy, though. Tori Amos is one of them too but could any selfproclaimed crime fighting feminist be complete without atleast Little Earthquakes in his/her collection? And the Lion King soundtrack, for a different reason though.

I also have a shameful penchant for 80's pop rock and new wave: Duran Duran, Mike & The Mechanics, Men At Work, Human League, etc.

I love Cheap Trick. I don't feel guilty about it in the least, but whenever I tell people that I like Cheap Trick, they look at me like I've got an advanced case of leperosy. So there you have it, I guess.

i don't really feel guilty about it... but it'd probably fit into the 'guily pleasure' category.

superbump for the fact that i played Oasis's "Be Here Now" in the store yesterday and didn't fucking care. shit was like an hour and change long of the most overblown, self-indulgent, coked-out britpop and i did. not. care.

my guilty pleasure is the "lovesongs after dark with karen sharp" on kost-fm and "killer oldies" with art laboe on hot92jamz. i dont feel guilty about the music cuz i think both playlists are the shit. especially killer oldies. my guilty pleasure is the "dedications". oh man theyre so awesome. karen sharp does these overwrought syrupy readings of peoplesis dedications that are so drenched in turd juice it fucken rules. art laboes dedications are 80% of the time about some torta shouting out her man locked up in folsom or something and its funny hearing art, a 60+ year old dude, say things like "my boo" or "mee veeda loeca".

OH SHIT AUDIO SAMPLES OF THE REALNESS!
http://www.kost1035.com/pages/lovesongs/
i kinda feel guilty cuz honestly im laughing AT them. on both accounts. couldnt find examples of the killer oldies ones. theyre best when art does the dramatic interpretations tho.
also, yes folks this is LA related. but i believe the killer oldies show is syndicated. :)
One-hit wonders, up to, and including, The Milkshake Song.

I don't consider Oasis a guilty pleasure. They are a great band!
That new katie perry song has one of the catchiest chorus in a while.

I happened to catch Beyonce's performance on the AMAs last night. I hadn't heard any of her new stuff. But that "put a ring on it" song was straight fire.
Of course, watching her dancing around didn't hurt matters either.

I like Ted Leo's cover of Since You've Been Gone. He even paired it off with The Yeah Yeah Yeah's Maps.
I've been enjoying Paramore's music for about a year now. It's my revealed guilty pleasure. That Hayley Williams can sure sing like it's nobody's business.

Something from my childhood that I recently got to pass on to my girls. Seems to be the only thing they want to listen to these days. But, really, how can you beat "Chicken Soup with Rice"?!?
^^ Or Alligators All Around.
