Anyone else ever read his books? I used to pick em up all the time at the library, they were collections of what were allegedly true ghost stories. He has a ton of these books and apparently still writes them. I'm trying but can't find any new info on the guy. Anyone have anylinks to any ghost story pages?

Yo, I gotta reply to this!
Those books were hella Tight!
I atually got nostalgic and checked one out of
the library called something like werewolves vampires,
giants and the Devil a couple months back.

He reallywas great and teaching young people about all sorts of intersting and far out subjects in a very mature
way. His stuff covered the occult,sci-fi,cryptozoology,
unsolved mysteries, folklore and i think religious history.
He was hella cool.

Oh yeah and those scary stories.... just thinking about them
gives me a slight tingle on the back of my neck.

One that really creeped me out was "Oh Susannah" from book 2 "More Scary Stories" to tell in the dark.

Yeah props on the post you brought back some awesome
memories.

Nice! Real Ghost Stories was my most prized possession back in 2nd or 3rd grade. Damn, I used to take Scary Stories and More Scary Stories out of the library over and over. I forget the author, but they were collections of popular urban legends and ghost stories with really eerie illustrations. Then I picked up one of these illustrated handbooks on Ghosts, which had tons of photos and illustrations of popular hauntings. Damn, where did I put all those books? They were great on sleepovers.

Come to think of it, I don't think I ever read Real Ghosts all the way through. I think I read the one story of White Lady of the Stairway or whatever, got freaked out by the photo, and was too lazy to read the rest of the stories that didn't have good photos. Hey, I'm a visual person!

I did have that Monsters book too. I was a big fan of giant squids. Scholastic and Troll book clubs made a lot of money off me.

yes.

there's one for each grade level range, and the selection has gone downhill. Lots' of product tie-in books and 'level readers' based on TV shows, etc.
