That said, I am jealous that you're gonna have easy access to such equipment.
how do you spot a squat? that's the beauty of the rack, or just drop the weight on the ground.

i will definitely be careful. my plan is to take the free saturday classes at crossfit and then incorporate what i learn into my practice at home.

I guess I could use the squat cage for bench press but I'd have to get a bench to go with it. Things could get sketchy in that case for sure. There's always the tilt and dump.

Hindu Squats. Going to work on form, build up to 200 a day.

^ Damn... I'd forgotten about Hindu squats, haven't done them in so long. I don't remember them being very difficult in terms of form, get the motions down and eventually you'll find a rhythm. You should do Hindu push ups too

It is possible to bail if a squat goes sideways, in particular the front squat. Back squats are a little harder, you can generally shrug them off your shoulders and behind, but if it starts going forwards, that can be harder to escape from.

Happened to me last weekend, my last back squat rep just wasn't happening but my coach was able to alleviate some of the weight so I could get back to standing.

Free CF classes?! There are those two opposing words again: CrossFit and free. Nice.

Did a few yesterday. It's great for my knees. I used to do deep knee bends a lot, but since my knees went south, I have a hard time, for example, doing a proper Asian squat. But the hindu squat feels great. I want to really be careful about form because I have bad knees. Supposedly, if you do it correctly, it makes your knees better. If my knees weren't sketchy, I would have declared the motion mastered yesterday. The exhaling going down is a little strange, too.

Heavy meals always do me in... Well, not after an athletic endeavour

Still though, 1:10 is a darn good time. And why do you 'mericans use metric for running and Imperial for pretty much every other distance-related measure?

lol. i have no idea. there used to be a freeway sign around here that showed the distance to LA in both imperial and metric. wish i took a pic of it before they took it down. i think it was the only road sign that had both units of measurement in all of LA county.

Cirque du Soleil refugee.

Seriously though, that's pretty damn impressive AND stupid cuz if he fell it'd possibly be onto equipment/*something* and that would really suck.

Have weird bruises on my right shin and knee. They don't hurt but can't recall causing them during last night's dead lifts.
