found my same watch for $49 and ordered a new one.

i'll keep this one out of the x-ray booth.

i forgot that the original reason it had stopped working was because i was wearing it when i got x-rayed.

don't know if that can damage a digital watch, but the timing was right so I figured that was the cause.

Hmm... Interesting. Hadn't thought about that. But, then again, I don't get x-rayed on a regular basis, either.

I looked at one of those limited edition ones on their website - it's got a red led digital readout. looks pretty nifty but don't really wanna spend $160 for a watch

$160? Heh. My two regular watches, a Luminox "Blackout" model and a Citizen Eco-Drive, were both over $200. I do have a "crappy" Casio watch that I wear when I'm mowing the lawn and doing other things where I don't want to worry about scratches or other damage.

I should've clarified. I don't mind spending $200+ on a nice dress watch, but since I view watches as strictly utilitarian I'd prefer having something a little less expensive. are there any other decent brands out there for sport watches? the only reason i'm considering a G-Shock is so that I can have a watch that can withstand a beating.

No problem. I wasn't trying to brag or anything. Like I said, I have a cheapy Casio that I wear when I'm doing something that could lead to my watch getting broken.

Hmm... Why not get a decent Timex or non-G-Shock Casio?

Watch I'm currently wearing is this nice and thin department store quartz thing that has a case diameter of about 34mm. I was thinking about stepping it up and getting something real nice (case diameter of 34mm to maybe 38mm at the most)

Omega Dynamic with the arabic numerals are pretty awesome

I'm just gonna start saving until I find something I really like
