Onimusha 1 is OK for its time. 2 was a huge improvement. 3 was an improvement as far as the controls were concerned but a step back in story in order to appeal to American audiences.

DMC2 is just plain fucking HORRIBLE. Not really worth rental. DMC3 is an overcompensation, an apology for 2.

As mentioned previously, the US Easy is Japan Normal. The guys at Capcom decided to jack it up for us Yanks.

I've put DMC3 down, so I could g-d damn finish Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne... which, believe it or not, one can complain that it is a RPG that is just too long with too much to do... Plus my hands were getting the shakes from DMC3... I wonder if anyone has sued for repetitive stress syndrom yet. You will break your fingers...

i finished advent rising in a weekend - ok game, but way too short...
this nocturne game seems to be good, but i don't know if i want to make that much of a time investment right now...

Do they do this to make it harder to finish as a rental? I remember this was done when Blockbuster started to rent out PSOne games.

I bought myself Digital Devil Saga to celebrate jury duty finally ending tomorrow!

I've only watched the intro so far, but I recognize some of the voice actors from anime; Spike Spiegel from Cowboy BB and the Major from Ghost in the Shell SAC ...

So, "Destroy All Humans" is good? I've been waiting for that to come out. Was hoping that it would live up to the previews.

Interesting that the guy apparently needs a "1-up" mushroom.

depends, for me its good, i dont get to play for long bouts so i can just pick up and play make some progress(finding probes like hidden packages in gta, collecting brain dna which is the currency in the game)

many reviews give it a mediocre score because it isnt ground breaking game but the way i look at it, whens the last time you played a game based on1950s alien conspiracy and it has the humor to make fun of the 50s America. I love it. and the psychokinesis power is awesome just slamming human bodies across a while see their health go down, maybe lifting a car and sandwiching another cop in between another car.

Some games are tweaked before US or European release for a couple of reasons. Games can be more expensive so have to offer better value for money. Also, Japanese gamers do not like games to be too difficult as it is considered rather unfair. I know there are exceptions to the rule, but for me part of the reason games like Ninja Gaiden are difficult is down to a lack of decent control system. FPS style controls are not generally used when they should be because it is not a popular genre over there.

I hate FPS games. Never been into any of them... been tempted by Quake and Doom a couple times, but never latched on. Part of the reason is that I am into seeing my character and the design.
