you have to realize, Nagasawa does not need to lose weight. He has no weight. He is, as they say, weightless. Shaw could probably bench him with ease.

mama and son rocked the gym hard today - i put in my normal 10 minute cardio warm up - followed by more real cardio - 30 minutes and weight lifting - 35 minutes? i don't really know.

i can bench press 70 pounds now - *this includes the weight of the bar and added weights.*

Oh my! I would pay money to see that. Actually I am a soft skinny person who woke up one morning and realized that I am middle-aged. I know 40 is the new 30 but I want to live to 120!

p.s. I am not 40 yet...

Ran 15 minutes today, just to get it back going. I sweated, I felt good, my knees felt okay. Time to get back into it.

Tried out a (free) martial arts class (I'm having some minor issues with the FMA place I'm currently with) and my whole body is sore, of course the fact the class lasted 2 hrs played a role in this. Just standard muscle fatigue but it feels good.

I really really have this urge to get back into martial arts training, this time focusing on grappling and MMA style techniques. It's been years. I have a black belt in tang soo do, which is basically useless because it's all about kicks, the hand techniques are almost worthless, learned way more in 1 week of boxing than I did in 5 years of tang soo do. After tang soo do, trained in kick boxing and American karate for a year, a year and a half. The boxing work was great. Wing chun do was really useful to. But no grappling, although wing chun do taught me some basic trapping moves that I probably couldn't use against anybody in a fight.

Topic: Motivation.

I have no problems motivating myself to stay in shape. What pushes you?

Here's some of mine:

--Most of my work is in fashion/apparel. Being in shape earns points in meetings, etc.

--I got out 3-4 times a week. Maybe guys won't admit this..when I see a guy in great shape, I note to myself to work out even harder.

--I'm 37. If I don't stay in shape, I'll keel over and die.

--I reward myself for staying the course. I think I spend all of my money on clothes and gadgets (PS3 and new kicks last week).

--I want to be around when the little kids I love today will be graduating from college.

if i worked at Sephora corporate like one of my girlfriends I think it would motivate me even more to be in shape

i'm 32 and can't drop weight like i use to 10 years ago!

i'm a motivation for my sisters and friends to get back into the gym.

i have a mental image of what i want to look like for my 33rd birthday and that's not till September.

my driving force - i already went down one size i want to at least drop one more - i refuse to be a bigger size ever again

okay - till i'm at least pregnant!

my way of thinking is this..

it's much harder to get in shape and/or lose weight when you get older. so if you start now, it won't be as hard later on. you won't have to spend as much time in the gym, and you can enjoy life a little more.

I've almost given up on motivation. Now, I just try to go as part of my daily routine. If I miss a day, I'll have a good reason, and I'll try to make it up. I still don't enjoy it much, but now it's gotten to be a habit, which is far stronger than a mere motivation.
