I don't think you aught disagree with him on all points, but agreeing with some of his views doesn't make him any more learned than someone else with the same points of view. He may have some degree of insight, but he's ultimate theory discredits him, & makes him not worth listening to.
I want to quote what you said earlier "connecting dots in such a way that the world becomes more coherent." If I understand this part correctly, then you are looking for a recognizable pattern. To which I will say that the the only pattern is that there isn't one. There aren't dots, Arch. All of human history is people making choices, often in hindsight they appear to be bad ones but how can one know when dealing with the present? You must make the most informed choice that you can, as a leader. Else, as an individual you make either good or bad ones & face the consequences. Thus the grand history of mankind has & will be made.
You said that Americans go about our lives subjugated to the government without any discourse or resentment.
Nonsense! Everyone I know is upset at the taxes we pay! Why do you think conversations concerning politics gets so heated? Because people are genuinely concerned about the choices their government makes. Where have you been & what in the world have you been reading/listening to?
