Ken Burns needs to do a 20-volume documentary on hip hop so as to highlight its deeply intertwined history with that of late 20th century popular culture. And just like the jazz doc, he'll stop with the meaty details when Biggie and Tupac were martyred, and only give cursory references to what's been going on the last 10 years.

I was really wasted when I posted this and reading that link someone posted about Obey's plagiarism, and focusing on the negative aspects of hip-hop, how most of it is really bad half-assed, facile stuff made by lazy people. But then there's the really good shit like Wu-Tang and Hiero and Kool Keith, who I'm quite familiar with, btw, rf. Sex Style, don't crush it when you sit up on it?
