Wow, great score. Those are real slick.
I need to buy a pair of comfortable walking shoes (going to go museum hopping in DC). Anyone have a favorite pair they can recommend?

fixt.
i do the saucony jazz. i'm on my second pair in as many years and they take a fucking beating, but they're comfortable right out of the box, no breaking in. they're not the most durable (the last ones i had lasted just about a year, and the ones i have now are approaching the one year mark and are starting to really wear down). but they're cheap (about 25 - 40 bucks depending on where you find them), they're comfortable, and for the time you own them, it's like walking on marshmallows.

that orthotic geriatric ugliness is part of the charm.....personally I found them a bit too wide. I know you can order them in narrow sizes but it gets pricey.

How do you guys typically dispose of your old sneakers? I always feel a little guilty simply throwing them into the garbage, I guess I just get attached to things. I've got pair of these totally crusty (formerly) white Vans Authentics and have just replaced them with a pair of Keds Champions.
As a skater, I have a tendency to hoard all my old shit and never throw them away. I've got old boards under the bed, magazines in the bathroom that go back years and old destroyed shoes. I wish these were recyclable. |
