Got any stories to share? Recipes for dishes, snacks, desserts, or drinks? Uses as a remedy?

People, especially da ladies seem to like the li hing margaritas at the restaurant I work at.
When I visited Japan recently, I brought over a bunch of li hing gummy bears and gummy worms and other li hing powder coated candy for omiyage. Huuuuuuuge hit. They were definitely feeling it.

^Yeah, yamchild showed v3 and me the Taiwan version on that last trip with the fruit slices and plum powder.
In Hawaii during the whole li hing powder craze they were putting it on anything and everything. Gummi bears, arare, fusion chefs were adding it to salad dressings and whatnot. But as always: it's good to suck on for sore throat sprinkle li hing powder on sour pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, orange and apple slices. drop a fat li hing mui in your coke or 7up

li hing is like the asian answer to the hispanic chile/limon phenomenon. who's been doing it longer? I'm not sure but they both have pos/negs. aren't they even putting li hing powder on popcorn now? i do like it on dried mango and gummies but that's about it....

yeah that phenylalanine warning is on a lot of "crack seed" goods. li hing seeds and powder are just one of the many.

this candy coated li hing seed is my favorite right now:
![]() it's nice to suck on because of the salty/sweet/sour combo...and the seed gets nice and soft after awhile...although the hard candy coating does a number on the roof of your mouth!

i know this doesnt look appetizing but mango seed is grubbin!
![]() it has a really interesting texture...depending on how ripe the mango is when picked or what type of mango is used...sometimes it's super soft and falls apart in your mouth and other times it's more firm...but the taste is very sweet and rich...i imagine from tamarind that they use with it....
