[9:5] Dub Narcotic Sound System. I've been a fan of Calvin's since I saw him get beaned by an ashtray playing in Beat Happening when they were opening for Fugazi on the Repeater tour. So I said, "Sure," when Tae asked if Dub Narcotic Sound System could stay at my house. They were in town to play two nights in a row at Jabberjaw-the last two nights the club would be open. Brian, Chris, and Larry were in the band then, and they were funky and amazing. The things to know about Calvin if he stays at your house are that (1) he loves super spicy food, and (2) he doesn't like having any coffee flavor in the hot water he uses for tea. The Jabberjaw shows were packed, sweaty and magical, as the final shows should have been. To top things off, Dub Narcotic Sound System was touring with The Make Up! On the last night, the show was busted by the fire marshall because too many people were having fun. IMAGE
