| Secret Asian Man is practically a myth. He's a lurker who's around when you least expect it and out of town when you expect him. Non-descript, he's all over the place. During b-ball season, he's a die-hard Knick fan who can be counted among the 20,000 people in Madison Square Garden or at a bar watching it on the air. When b-ball is over, he transforms into a Yanks fan. Catch him in the bleachers. He might be that Asian dude eating a chilidog. Who knows and who cares? He'll walk right by you in stealth, and you won't even know it. That's how he can take a leak behind trash bins on the far west side of town in broad daylight. | ![]() |

When Claudine isn't writing for Giant Robot, she works for a conglomerate publication, which translates to long hours. She's a transplant from Southern California and won't come back soon, which translates to she likes New York. Her room is filled with pictures that she's taken of her, her friends, and other precious moments with her manual Canon, which translates to she's narcissistic. But basically, Claudine's a hustler who will go anywhere, anytime, and without fear. If the assignment calls for her to go somewhere on the fly, she'll go. Her best tip to tourists in New York is when you're not sure what to do in a sketchy area, walk in the middle of the street and the let the cars drive around you. Claudine's narcissism is contagious. Seeing her pictures makes you want to see some of yourself. There's an art to this self-portraits. I think the idea is to make it look like you didn't take it--sort of. But at the same time, being able to tell people that you took the photo to make an excuse of some sort.
