![]() Walking and taking pictures were my only plans. Eating a slice here and there, checking out the street art, the way buildings and people interact, and cool stores with their high prices, walking is really easy since Manhattan isn't too big. Blocks go by in seconds, and the people are just a blur. Graffiti is everywhere, and although it's an eyesore if it's on your own house, it's fun to see elsewhere. I have no idea why. The idea of someone considering his or her vandalism as art is cool, and easy to see and appreciate. |

![]() I have no idea why I had my eyes on the urban scrawls. But it's more artistic in New York, since the paint balances out the buildings in certain areas. Without it, the walls would be too bare, and the landscape too bland. I think foot traffic would slow down if there were no street markings, stencils, and pen marks. So I took pictures of it all--or at least as much as possible. Together they mean more than the individual, and half the time the worst line quality and the messiest jobs looked the best. |
