Thanks for the folks in NYC who came to the event. My camera was on the blink, so no flash, but then again, slightly fuzzy out of focus pictures are supposed to be cool right? So these are Lomo camera shots, slightly funky but cool. You're not getting the typical, "here's our friends at our party" type pics, but I hope you like what we saw. It's all a blur anyway.

The event went as planned and it was packed. It started a little slow, so everyone got some food at around 8-9pm, but then at around 11pm, people started to overflow into the street. The Void is situated somewhere near the west end of Chinatown. I don't really know if there's an official location name for it, but it's a nice place at night. The street in front is sleepy and filled with old style office buildings while the party went on until something like 3am! We occupied the Giant Robot table right outside the door, giving away free magazines to anyone who wanted one. It's always great to see some faces light up when they're flipping through the pages for the first time. And finally attaching some faces to email names along with the dotcom addresses is always cool. Some are long time correspondents and some, not. But on one trip, we can go from email to reality. And that's why we were there.

The artist in reddish photo is Mannequin Tracker or Laris Kreslin who does Sound Collector magazine. It's a book sized publication that's filled with music that you should care about. If you showed up, you could have grabbed a couple of issues free. See what you missed?

The gent who's reaching toward a turntable is Sientific American, yes there is no 'c' in Sientific just to differentiate him from the magazine. He's a DJ and electronic music dude who can make some noise live.
