GR2 Presents SUPERRUNNATURAL, a group exhibition featuring Kelsey Beckett, Elliot Brown, Peter Chan, Shawn Cheng, and Rebecca Green. Kelsey Beckett has a hand for delicately illustrating women. Elliot Brown paints texturally rich realistic scenes of everyday life. Peter Chan's scenic works are both soft and organic while his characters are imaginative and unique. Shawn Cheng's work is versatile and eclectic often depicting Japanese yokai. Rebecca Green's illustrations are light hearted and whimsical. Together, they form the Superunnatural and that's ok with us.

Kelsey Beckett is a Michigan native and an Illustration graduate of College for Creative Studies.  Prior to attending CCS, she was awarded the National Scholastic Gold Key and National Scholastic Silver Portfolio Metal.  At CSS, she received an Award of Excellence and was named Senior Select in Illustration.  Currently freelancing as a illustrator/lettering artist, her work has been featured by Juxtapoz and published in Spectrum #20.

Elliot Brown is a painter, illustrator, sculptor, and all around artist based out of Los Angeles, California, USA.  In Brown’s own words his “goals are killing it, shredding the gnar, and getting rad.”

Peter Chan works in visual development, concept art and illustration within the Greater Los Angeles Area.  He attended ArtCenter College of Design and currently works for Sony Pictures Imageworks.

Shawn Cheng is a painter, cartoonist, and illustrator living and working in New York City.  He creates handmade, limited-edition comic books as a member of the comics & art collective Partyka.  His comics have appeared in anthologies like Best American ComicsThe Graphic Canon, and the SPX Anthology.  Shawn's paintings and prints have been shown at galleries like Fredericks & Freiser (New York) and Giant Robot (LA and San Francisco).  His first solo show was held at Franklin Art Works in Minneapolis.  Shawn was born in Taiwan and grew up on Long Island.  He studied Painting & Printmaking at Yale University.  His CV is available upon request.

Rebecca Green is an illustrator, painter, and a make believe maker. Her work has a home in children's and young adult books, magazines, galleries, and more.  She works mainly in gouache, acrylic, colored pencil, and ink.  Although most of her time is spent drawing and painting, she also thoroughly enjoys cooking, adventuring, and starting loads of books but hardly ever finishing them.  She currently lives in Nashville, TN with her partner, Matt, and their animal cherubs, Mori and Junie B.
