About the Collaboration

G and G began working together in 2018 as a fun experiment to see what would happen if we altered, added to, and finished each other’s work. What started with a couple pieces snowballed as more and more ideas came to us. This has really been a special collaboration for us because we feel like our work and styles mesh together so well.

Gina Zycher

I am a potter from Los Angeles and I work both on and off the potter’s wheel. It’s quite easy for me get lost in the process of making objects out of clay, which is a huge part of why I enjoy it so much. I’m a bit of a homebody, so my ultimate goal is to create pieces that make other people’s homes feel special. When I’m not at the studio, I like to cook, dote on my cat, and explore LA.

Godeleine de Rosamel

I do ceramic sculptures. They are imaginary animals adapted or evolved from reality, but nothing that really exists. I love that my work let me play at being the original creator of new life forms. It fits with my interest in natural history, evolution, and the wonders of the natural world in general.

I have also always been drawn to what is called “low tech”, and the fact that beautiful and meaningful art can be created out of very simple materials.
With my work, I just want to create an imagined but also familiar and coherent world that can take people’s imagination in new places.
