So around 6:00 or so, I busted out of the GR booth to take a leak. I saw a pretty amazing Red Skull, and even more interestingly he was holding Captain America's shield. Was the Nazi villain finally victorious? Of course, I asked to take a picture, but I was a little disappointed when he hid the bullet-deflecting, boomerang-lake device. Inside, everything made sense: a pair of red shoes could be seen poking out of a stall. Only at Comic-Con, where Wookies walk by Klingons, Harry Potters hang out with Twilight vampires, and enemies become friends. Below, more people I saw–not all famous, but at least they're not enemies…

More people dressed up for Comic-Con today, which was cool. The morning started off really well with a cross-dressing Robin! I told her that she was even better than the gender-bending Harry Potters, which I also like and haven't seen much of this year. And, then there were more friends and artists and others… Some repeats from last year and some even from yesterday or the day before!

If you don't attend panels or shop and just hang out at your booth, Comic-Cons can start to blur together. Especially because you see a lot familiar faces of friends who come by. I'm sure if you compare some of the ones I'm about to share with the ones from last year, there's some overlap.

The San Diego trolley signs are in Klingon and that can mean only one thing: the Comic-Con has begun. Setting up for preview night is always hectic, but the crew got it together with plenty of time (and not much help from me). One of the biggest deals is the final installment of the Scott Pilgrim saga, which released this week! Here's creator Bryan Lee O'Malley at out booth with the new GR mag that features his cover story. Nice!

On the way to Orange County this morning, I made a pit stop at Donut Man in Glendora. I was expecting peach donuts to be on the menu by now, but strawberry donuts are still in full force. Yes! Lucky for GR anime editor James Leung (below), who is visiting from NJ to attend and help out at Comic-Con. This is a pilgrimage that every GR crew member must make at least once in his or her life.
