Marie Skłodowska Curie, also known as Madam Curie was a physicist and chemist who conducted pioneering research on radioactivity at the turn of the 20th century. She was the first person to win a Nobel Prize twice and in multiple sciences and broke the seal for subsequent female nobel peace winners. She accomplished even more firsts for women, science and education than can fit here. If her academic and scientific accomplishments aren't enough, she also ran mobile X-Ray units during World War I. This repeated exposure to the still little understood radiation would eventually lead to her death.
Let's hope for a movie about her played by no one less than Maryl Streep!
