Archie's Press - Bay Area Map Letterpress Print
Measures 8.5 x 11 inches.
The Bay Area definitely has a mist about it. This loose-knit group of cities is probably the most beautiful metropolitan area in the US. Not probably, it is the most beautiful, with the best produce and the best tacos. It's no surprise that it's really expensive. I took all the major cities and towns surrounding this massive body of water and spun it into a simple graphic diagram.
Black ink on white letterpress paper.
Archie's Press - Brooklyn Circle City Map Letterpress Print
Measures 8 x 8 inches.
Why Circles?
Circles are the simplest shape for our eyes and brain to understand. When faced with a swathe of circles, we're not as overwhelmed by the information. It's easy to look at, and easy to read.
Neighborhoods don't have corners: When you're in-between three different neighborhoods, which neighborhood are you in? There are no-man's lands all over a city.
Not only do circles create a contained space, but they also imply entire worldliness. In old times, a village was often mapped in a circle, which was probably the whole world to its inhabitants.
Choose your preferred city.
