Giant Robot is proud to present the art of Evah Fan at GR2.

Evah Fan’s artwork is often described as cute. She prefers to think of her simple figures, awkward situations, and sparse layouts as conceptual and silly. The Pratt Institute graduate is inspired by weird true events, make-believe worlds, and Twilight Zone-like situations as well as fragmented puns and narrative word-plays. Her work has shown in galleries across the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia and appeared in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Flaunt, Arkitip, Tokion, and Giant Robot.

For I Bacon Powder, the primary theme is food. There will be 25-30 new paintings (mostly gouache on paper) and a few sculptures made out of Sculpey. The show’s title sums up the awkwardness of her outlandish portrayals of food. Say “I beg your pardon” five times fast, and you might get it.

A reception for the artist will be held from 6:30 – 10:00 on Saturday, October 7.
