The World is Watching
October 4 - October 22, 2014
Opening Reception: Saturday, October 4, 6:30-10 PM

Exhibition of Work by Dan Goodsell, Flat Bonnie, Joey Chou, Kwanchai Moriya, Ryuca, and Tiffany Liu.

Dan Goodsell is an artist living in Los Angeles. He is the creator of the World of Mr Toast. He has self published numerous Mr Toast comics and books as well as created many other Mr Toast products including dolls, toys, keychains, buttons and t-shirts. Dan Goodsell has had his art appear in Nick Magazine, Anorak Magazine, Hi-Fructose Magazine and other international design books and magazines.  His artwork has been exhibited worldwide at locations including Gallery 1988, Giant Robot, Nickelodeon Studios, Munky King and the Ben Maltz Gallery at Otis Parsons School of Design.

Tiffany Liu – The sea is full of magic and wonder, quietly isolated and away from most human eyes. There is a lovely sense of peace to be had, where one's experiences feel near surreal, like a dream. I wanted to tell stories from the deep and journey under the depths to little aquariums filled with whimsical make-believe and nonsensical ambiguity.

Kwanchai Moriya is an fine artist and illustrator. Born in New York and raised in Chicago, he received his BFA in Illustration from Art Center College of Design, and has worked on a variety of gallery exhibitions and freelance illustration. His fine art explores figurative painting with loose brush work and geometric shapes.

RYUCA was born in 1981 and is based in Tokyo. She uses children as motifs and expresses feelings and emotions which are difficult to put into words. These children aren't fighting the irrational world. They accept and love it.

Joey Chou is a 2006 graduate from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. He is an animation artist who has illustrated for several children's books, self-published his own titles, and illustrated Disney's "It's A Small World Sing Along Book" paying tribute to Mary Blair's design of the classic amusement park ride.

Flat Bonnie was created to help bring awareness to the life of bunnies in shelters and rescue centers. Most people do not know that there are bunnies ready for adoption at these places. Flat Bonnie plushes are made for people who love bunnies and for people who may want a real bunny but are not ready to provide the proper care and finances needed to raise the bunny. When that person is ready for a real bunny, Flat Bonnie's message is to adopt from a local shelter or rescue center. A generous portion of all sales is donated to bunny/animal rescue organizations monthly.

Edwin Ushiro - Gathering Whispers Monograph

If I could make art with any kind of skill, Edwin Ushiro's work might be what I'd want to do. Edwin's history of growing up in Hawaii mixed with the typical things that kids do, is his pool of creative resources. His monograph, Gathering Whispers is a beautiful collection of Edwin's history between hardcovers.
