Hiroshi Hoketsu’s age continues to go up like everyone else, but his ability seems to be be the same. He competed in the 1964 Olympics! This isn’t a story about a man who at 71 will be the oldest Olympian, but the story about his dedication and partnership with his horse is as remarkable. His horse was ill, then recovered and they qualified for the Olympics. Talk about Rio in 2016 becomes another story. His horse, Whisper will be 19, and he doubts it would work out. From “Kiddy Table to the Adult Table”, Asian Americans have spending power. The segment features Julia Huang who mentions Asian Americans are segmented. Yes “we” are and that means needing many different campaigns for each group, which then means companies need to spend more to figure out how to reach all of Asian America. The Asian American market has been looked at for about a decade as being heavily important as compared to the size of the population due to the spending power. The move also looks like it’s a tiny step from in-language work to the general market. With a thousand TV stations in English with just a few which are Asian language based, it’s obvious where the marketing money must go. The link includes a video segment about it for the BBC!
