Giant Robot Store and GR2 News
How cute. Two heads of States, or maybe Mates of States hanging out throwing punches into the wind. Obama recently hosted Lee Myung-bak, the President of Korea. They ate, ate, and ate at Woo Lae Oak, a high end Korean restaurant, he was briefed unlike anyone else before, and with the economy in South Korea doing alright as compared to many other places, they’ll be an ally. How cute. (atimes – Lee Myung-bak)

Ed Lee isn’t a youtube sensation, but in our generation, he can be. The title Fear of the Moustache is a parody of the Fear the Beard slogan that’s SF Giant’s pitcher Brian Wilson’s mantra. Supporters and celeb endorsements include Will-i-am. Tech giant folks, Brian Wilson himself doing MC Hammer moves and Mr Hammer himself. This reported cost $18k to make, and that’s still a questions mark. Perhaps it’s music licensing. The talent was allegedly all free, so where does that cost come from? The video meanwhile is still cheaper than the commercial spots and will turn some heads.

Art Review magazine put Ai Weiwei as the most influential artist in the world. That makes sense, doesn’t it? Without knowing a thing about his work, or seeing what it looks like, his name nearly became household this year. In the BBC’s news, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin said: “China has many artists who have sufficient ability. We feel that a selection that is based purely on a political bias and perspective has violated the objectives of the magazine.” That makes sense right? Influential art doesn’t have to signify anything that has to do with art itself. It’s the ability to use art as well. Although what Ai Weiwei will do with this influence or power? Or what it really means to have it, or not have it, we’ll see. But for now, he’s already in high demand as an artist anywhere and feels like he has no power at all. Does he? Probably not, but he can land an art show anywhere. That’s power enough. (BBC – Ai Weiwei)

We saw this and thought cool, no big deal. Then the words, First time?! gets mentioned. Shouldn’t think be happening all the time? How about once a year? But this is the first time. The Asian group might be less in numbers, but definitely important. C’mon! (Politico – Asian Caucus meets Obama)

How is Michele Bachman taken seriously? Yes, let’s return to the days where only non people of color could become citizens. It’s also funny seeing the George Takei as Sulu posted with this article. No Sulu wouldn’t be allowed to be a citizen, yet, Hikaru Sulu could easily fence his way in and out before and after The Asian Exclusion Act by using the Transporter. Wait, if she had her way, we wouldn’t be here either. (thinkprogress – Michele Bachmann)
