Here’s a little clip of my boy Jun Kung’s recent show for Agnes B in Taipei. As one of the artistes in my management company, Revolution Talent Management, we are working hard on getting his long awaited album to release this year. This song was a collaboration with the Godfather of Taiwanese rock, Wubai and is Jun’s first Mandarin song. Enjoy!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Art Show Theo Ellsworth at GRSF, July 18, 2009 – August 19, 2009 Reception: Saturday, July 18, 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm GRSF 618 Shrader Street San Francisco, CA 94117 gr-sf.com 415-876-4773 Giant Robot is proud to present Imaginary Friends, an art show featuring new works by Theo Ellsworth. Theo Ellsworth makes obsessively detailed drawings and self-publishes comics, mini comics, and zines about imaginary people and places. The cosmic imagery, subtle geometry, and implied animism in his works recall the epic, heroic, and odd imagery of Jean “Moebius” Girard, Mayan ruins, and the Nazca lines, filtered through the jam-packed and often psychedelic lens of underground comix from the ’70s. (Ellsworth’s first “real” book, Capacity, was weird, wordy, and wonderful, and published by Secret Acres in 2008.) Taking part in art shows affords the Portland, OR-based artist opportunities to experiment with color, explore larger frames, and let his imagination fly–or spelunk or dive, depending on his mood. Lately, he has been cutting characters out of wood with a scroll saw and drawing sea creatures. For Imaginary Friends, Ellsworth is making 30 pieces using pen and ink, colored pencil, and watercolor. A quarter of them will be woodcuts. According to the artist, recurring themes include but are not limited to “parades of monsters, people made of leaves, scaled and antlered beasts, flying machines, complicated structures, and dreams.” A reception for Ellsworth will be held from 6:30 – 10:00 on Saturday, July 18.
