Giant Robot Store and GR2 News

So it's blog time again, and blogger is acting weird. Why won't the pic load up? What's wrong with them? I have a juicy post to show you, but you can't see it. I swear, I photographed an alien. It abducted me and I went into the ship and I shot pics the whole time and they really came out. But blogger won't let me upload them right now. Why is it that I upload them, and no image comes out? I guess...

gr/eats. a lot of food makes it onto my blog and maybe that’s because we have a restaurant, and I like to check out different kinds of foods. I’m biased, and I swear we do a pretty good job with the cooking. tilapia pesto – did you know tilapia is among the lowest mercury content of fish that we all eat? This has to be one of the best things at gr/eats Udon rocks too and we serve it in a pot. It stays hot.

[nggallery id=74]   Evah Fan at GR2, October 7 – November 8 Reception: Saturday, October 7, 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm GR2 2062 Sawtelle Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90025 gr2.net (310) 445 – 9276 Giant Robot is proud to present the art of Evah Fan at GR2. Evah Fan’s artwork is often described as cute. She prefers to think of her simple figures, awkward situations, and sparse layouts as conceptual and silly. The Pratt Institute graduate is inspired by weird true events, make-believe worlds, and Twilight Zone-like situations as well as fragmented puns and narrative word-plays. Her work has shown in galleries across the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia and appeared in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Flaunt, Arkitip, Tokion, and Giant Robot. For I Bacon Powder, the primary theme is food. There will be 25-30 new paintings (mostly gouache on paper) and a few sculptures made out of Sculpey. The show’s title sums up the awkwardness of her outlandish portrayals of food. Say “I beg your pardon” five times fast, and you might get it. A reception for the artist will be held from 6:30 – 10:00 on Saturday, October 7.

Being in the midwest which isn’t known for it’s great veggies, I had to have a steak. So the spot to check out isLindy’s steak house. It’s a well known for it’s steaks and nothing else. The menu is simple. Just three types, and it comes with a iceberg lettuce salad although the dressing is 1000 island and actually something I like but don’t eat, potatoes (like hash), sweet pickled watermelon rind to cleanse the palette after a steak bite. This is the Lindy’s special steak. That’s a serving for 3. Mine is the one in the foreground, a bloody mess but quite great. It looks small, but in the end, it’s the right amount.
