Japanese made it known that faced with a choice between their children and cheap nuclear energy they will choose their kids and a future of free of radiation as thousands took to the streets on the national Children’s Day holiday Saturday to make their collective will plain to see to both the government and the politically influential Japanese power utilities. The Associated Press were on the streets with the demonstrators and NHK World had multimedia coverage of the shutdown of Japan’s last operating nuclear reactor ~ Hokkaido Electric Power Company’s Tomari #3 ~ earlier that same day.

Yeah this airline is leading the way of stupidity. $100 a bag for carry on if you don’t pay ahead? It’s already $45 if you carry something, and it’ll be $50 towards the end of the year. The only way this can all make sense is if they give their flights away for free and then charge you for each amenity. When this knowledge gets to the forefront – which they’re not promoting, why would anyone fly this airline? Ridiculous. My cousin recently flew this airline and although the prices are fairly decent when booking ahead, he added $100 to the price just for carrying something. He also remarked that his seat assignment also costed extra. (CNN – Spirit)
