Giant Robot Store and GR2 News

painting by James Jean. Philip Lim appears in huge fashion in Fast Company. Excuse the pun, but the article is large, and it’s funny how “contemporary price point” is used. It’s not inexpensive in the least, but we suppose it’s not the super high, high prices that his wear can be. He attended college in Southern California and worked his way with some help to being an industry of his own. (Fast Company – Philip Lim)

The Raid. For it’s upcoming release the score is supposed to be done by Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. From his YouTube site… The film looks like fun and it’s probably done with the smallest budget. “For a long time, I have been wanting to score a film. In order for it to work, it would have to have a great story, stunning visuals, and the timing would have to work out in a way that didn’t distract from all the things I want to do with Linkin Park. I’m really excited to have finally found the right project. The movie is called The Raid. Its intense martial arts choreography, amazing cinematography, and great story have been inspiring all kinds of new music. I’m excited for all of you to see—and hear—this film.”

The size of the Pacific Islanders! We assure you, there’s not all this large, but there is an island Nauru where 94% are overweight! As food imports with little nutritional value gets imported, the weight has gone up. It is sad to read that the local resources are used less and the islanders are becoming reliant on imported processed foods. However, it’s also very possible that it’s cultural. Much like a beard in Afghanistan, a thin person can be looked down upon, and weight is part of their world. Yet, in the poorer areas in the US where fast food chains blast their $1 menu, we’re game to assume that weights have gone way up in the last twenty years.(Businessinsider – Pacific Islanders)
