Giant Robot Store and GR2 News
Just found this. All apologies to my cousin Michael Aki who did the heavy bulk of the editing and who co made the film. Yes, maybe I said those things about Godard. Thanks Keith Lock, a artist filmmaker dude I met in Toronto who can eat Vegemite. I’m always stunned that people can remember such minute details. I just finished watching two more revenge-themed movies from Hong Kong. One happens to feature my friend Daniel Wu. The other was produced by my pals Conroy Chan and Josie Ho.
The story is of legend. A feudal lord is forced to commit suicide, and his 47 loyal followers go out to kill his killer, and after they’re done, they commit ritual suicide. It’s now turning into a 3d movie with dude, Keanu Reeves, a half Asian. How he fits as a Japanese person, we can’t understand yet, hopefully the film will deliver even 50% of what it should (get it?). Here’s some photos from the set. (Screenrant – 47)

A short but nice Q and A with Michelle Yeoh about her role as Aung San Suu Kyi in Luc Besson’s The Lady. We’ve interviewed her in the past, and it’s great to see her go from being Ms Kickass to being taken seriously as an actress. (Crave – The Lady)
