Giant Robot Store and GR2 News

The Delano Manongs: Forgotten Heroes of the UFW (United Farm Workers) Cesar Chavez day just passed and some of you might have had a holiday. Yes, he get a holiday, but what about the Pilipinos who were setting up the unions. In fact, the Pilipinos were setting up a protest (1965 Grape Strike) and then that’s when the Mexicans joined in. Larry Itliong looks bad ass in this and no one really knows who he is. I’ll admit at the Smithsonian Advisory Panel I tried to help at, his name came up a few times. Yes, I know some of the players, but I didn’t know who he was. Where was he in my history books? This doc should change that for some. Hope it gets to Netflix for the rest of the world. Here’s some more info here at multiamerican.scpr.org and more at the documentary Delanomanongs.com website! (That’s where I will credit the photo of Larry Itliong) The Delano Manongs from Media Factory on Vimeo.

I am writing a self help book called Be What Losers Call a Loser. The back of the cover will probably explain that being a millionaire means you get to live as if you make 40K, you just don’t have to worry anymore. But if you live like a millionaire, watch out pal, that costs a million dollars. My motto is “be what losers call a loser”. Stay home and make the stuff everyone else goes out and does on a Saturday night, and don’t tell a SOUL what you are going to do…just do it and we will find it out there. Even when you are done, don’t say a word. ( I just broke my motto ) Just take a sip of water and get right back to work on the next thing. Let us enthusiasts out there find and celebrate your work. Shut your mouth and get it all done. OK now that you hate this, get ready for more. And yes I did pick a ford over a Bentley so I could buy more die cast robots and save for retirement. The rich guy toys are for broke folks. NO thanks.

Most of the time, I can careless about this show, especially when they show hip hop artists homes that look like they just rented for the shoot (this would be called “frontin”). Manny’s house. Yes that’s real. I hear it’s in Hancock Park where Ali and George Takei lives.

My old blog was absorbed into the Uglydoll website, and our schedule prevented us from making posts. My pre-ordered video games from amazon through 2010 still sit there shrink wrapped. But now that I can chime in while in line from my phone About how the lady in front of me made fun of me for owning die cast robots while she held onto 2 shopping bags full of ceramic garden roosters. ( Edit, I sold all of my old games and bought a 3Ds. Now when I walk by you in public, you can defeat me in a passive manner. )
