Giant Robot Store and GR2 News

Things get heated in Hong Kong and we’re not talking about just eating noodles on a train. Mainlanders who are in Hong Kong are doing things their own way, and not adapting to the conditions of their surroundings. Below is a video of eatings noodles on a train as reported in Asian Week. You’re not supposed to eat on the train, yet the mainlanders aren’t budging that it was something they aren’t supposed to do. Yet it gets worse. For you without jobs and can watch something disgusting, a video recently appeared of a mainlander defecating on the streets of Hong Kong as well.

The bad boy who ruined the careers of many, apparently has the golden ticket. He gets to reappear and do work in the exact place where it was said that the triad fathers of some of the starlets would kill him, make him eat feces and so forth, but apparently he’s either dead, ate it or just has weathered the test of time. He’s back. TV won’t let him back on yet, so the ad is just online, but there he is. If you’re new to the scandal then just google and you’ll see… (Ad Age China – Edison Chen)

These have to be some of the worst paid living conditions ever. Yes, of course living on the streets in a wartorn country could be worse, but this is pretty bad. Is it possible that 100,000 live in rabbit cages in Hong Kong? They’re 6×2 1/2 feet and costs a whopping $200 a month, which seems high! There’s a shared shower and some even have small families. There’s no kitchen and there are more photos at the link. At 104, it’s time to retire from TVB, his station and creation. He’s well known as a media mogul, however the indelible name of Shaw is synonymous with the 1000 movies many of which were exported in the 70s as Kung Fu flicks. He was knighted in 1977 if that gives you any idea of who he is as a Chinese man working in entertainment. His career has spanned and his legend will always continue. (Irish Times – Run Run Shaw)

This logo was spread just a bit after Steve Jobs died. The guy behind it, is it really the guy in the photo? The truth is the fella who created it, did it without knowing about the already made logo. He’s quite open about communicating it, etc, but in the end, it’s all been done more than once before. The fella behind it named Jonathan Mak lives in Hong Kong and is 19 years old. It turns out the logo was done earlier by Chris Thornley, and you can see his at the link. Either way, people should leave the kid alone. It was a tribute. (Yahoo – Apple Bite)
